Thank You For Supporting Us

We have now been making and selling our 6 ft round yoga mats for over 1 1/2 years.  Thank you everyone for supporting our little company.

Since starting this adventure we have added a DVD, Mat Cleaner, Yoga Pads, and a special mat bag to carry the mat.

I know that the other company (I can't say their name because I was sent a letter from their lawyer) who sells a round mat is selling it for a few dollars less.  I am unable to lower my price any more as I don't have the resources to compete pricewise with the bigger company.  But in the spirit of yoga if you really want one of our mats and the cost is just to high please get in touch with us so we can make it affordable for you.

My whole idea for creating this mat was to help you be more creative and want to build a home practice.  Over 1200 mats later I am hoping that is what is happening.

If you would like to read the whole story about the bigger guy taking advantage of the smaller business please go to our first few posts from September 2009.

Thank you again for your support!

Default Protection:Not Covered
For Jenny Paola Sierra her parents’ experience in micro export has been very valuable in her development as a young entrepreneur: she designs and manufactures her own line of leather wallets, purses and accessories. At the age of 27 she has quite a bit of future projection and vision from the city of Bogotá to the world; she lives in this capital city’s San Fernando neighborhood and it is here where she is making her first inroads.

She is currently applying for her 4th loan which she’ll use to buy leather and its derivatives as well as other raw materials to launch a new collection of purses, wallets and cellular phone carrying cases.

When Jenny started out in 2000 she trained as a designer and then started out with a firm first step: she was an exhibitor at the 2006 Exporartesanias Fair where she showed a line of diversified products like coin purses and cell phone carrying cases. Gradually she has been expanding citywide.

She is a client of Fundación Mario Santo Domingo and has used loans to buy equipment that has drastically reduced her production time; her products have become known in the Dominican Republic.

Her greatest dream is to establish herself in foreign markets, to continue expanding and becoming known in other parts of the world.

Her greatest challenge is the fluctuations in value of the dollar and often not having sufficient capital available to fill all the orders she has from important Colombian customers.

A New KIVA Donation

Time for another KIVA donation!  Since I have been making the Mandala Yoga Mat bags I know how difficult and time consuming it is to sew.  Mrs. Savinh Doung from Cambodia is weaving silk!  Can you imagine the time and patience needed for that skill.

It takes such a small amount of money, time, energy, kindness etc....  to make a difference in someones life.  I hope that these small donations will help to make life a bit easier and enjoyable for these entrepreneurs. Here is a little info on this beautiful woman.

Thank you for your support on our small business as well!

Give a little make a difference

As I watch the devistation and destruction that the earthquake in Haiti created I am reminded how blessed and lucky I am.  I just have to look around at what I have to realize it is my responsibility to be responsible.

It doesn't take much to make a difference and to help people and a country in need.  All you have to do is google Haiti donations and you will see how many organizations there are.  Check them out and see what percentage the organization actually gives.  There are many that are able to give 95% of the donations directly to places in need.

I will continue to give a portion of every Mandala Yoga Mat I sell to the relief efforts in Haiti.  So feel good about that too if you do buy a mat.

Remember every little bit helps.

Take a look around at your home, your family and friends and take note at how fortunate we all are.
